Kell Brook “I would knock Khan clean out”

WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) recently added welterweight Junior Witter to the list of potential opponents he wants to fight on April 16th in the UK. Since Khan is now adding welterweights to his list, then he should have no problems facing #1 WBO welterweight contender Kell Brook (23-0, 16 KO’s), who is more than willing to take on Khan for this date.

Brook doesn’t have a fight scheduled right now and is interested in fighting Khan for his next fight.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Brook said “Come on, Khan, stop messing about and give the fans and media a real fight that they want to see – against me. If he’s talking big about fighting Mayweather then why is he overlooking the best welterweight in Britain first? I’m fit and ready to go. My promoter Frank Warren wants the fight, the only person who doesn’t want it is Khan. I would knock him clean out. He might have hand speed, but I’m just as fast.”

I can say why Khan’s ignoring Brook. It’s because he’s too dangerous, too fast and too powerful. Yeah, it doesn’t make sense that Khan is talking 24/7 about wanting to fight Mayweather, yet he doesn’t want any part of the best welterweight in the UK. If Khan is already fighting in the UK, and is considering the old 36 years of age Witter, then Khan might as well skip that fight and take the much tougher fight against the unorthodox Brook. Khan would get much more respect from boxing fans and he would put on a much better fight for everyone. Khan already had his last fight with Marcos Maidana voted the fight of the year for 2010. Why not trying to top that by taking on a really good opponent instead of someone he can roll over without any problems.
